Back in September, when I “upgraded” my iPad mini to the iOS 7 I instantly found the new look abhorrent and have been whining about it ever since. And while I am baffled, I am also impressed at the PR machine that is Apple because I get updates from otherwise sane developers who say something like, “now updated to the beautiful iOS7 look!” The italics are mine, but the “beautiful” is not made up…some idiot out there drank CrApple’s Kool-Aid or is just stroking their bloated ego.
I thought that some of the features of the OS were worth the downgrade in appearance, which I have learned to tolerate somewhat. Now that 2014 is here, I’m going to try to exorcise 2013 from my memory as much as possible. Our tragedy took over our lives after July 31st, but several friends have faced life threats that have put things in perspective.
Too many bad things, so I’m going to take a page from Time magazine and the editors’ Person of the Year chosen for the impact/influence good or bad.
Scroll down for my choices for Person, Engineering & Physics & Chemistry & Biology Achievements, Operating System, Most Disturbing & Funniest websites, Misinformer & Political A**, Movie, Book review and last but not least…

What a crazy two weeks this has been: Brandon graduated from Brookhaven Community College … Colin had some car trouble … Dylan turned 16 … Andrea’s CityArtCal partnered with TWO businesses – a one-night show and a gallery featuring CityArtCal artists … we started playing racquetball again … Dylan got a job as a life guard … we played dominoes and I was reacquainted with a host of endearing euphemisms … I got an iPad mini … Andrea created a piece that became an instant sensation … AND we hosted a Pirate Murder Mystery Party for Dylan’s birthday …
